Video poker hands
The ranking order of video poker hands,
which is based on the hands probability of occurrence
– from least likely to most likely – is
as follows:
Royal flush: Ace, King, Queen, Jack
and Ten of the same suit.
Straight flush: Any other five cards
of the same suit in sequence.
Five of a kind: Some games allow the
use of a deuce or a joker as a wild card, which can
allow you to have five cards of the same rank eg. 10,
10, 10, 10, joker.
Four of a kind: Four cards of the
same rank, plus an unrelated fifth card that has no
bearing on the hand.
Full house: Three cards of one rank
and two cards of another rank.
Flush: Any five cards of the same
suit. The cards are not in sequence, and the suit has
no bearing on the rank of the flush.
Straight: Five cards in sequence,
not all of the same suit.
Three of a kind: Three cards of the
same rank, plus two unrelated cards.
Two pair: Two cards of one rank, two
cards of another rank, and one unrelated card.
One high pair: Any pair of jacks or
better (10s or better in some games) and three unrelated
cards.
One low pair: Any pair of less than
jacks (10s in some games) and three unrelated cards.
No pair: Five unrelated cards.
