This pay table has stood the test of
time well enough to ensure that no only is it still
in use, but that it has been used as a template for
all the other various tables that have been introduced
since.
All video poker machines use similar pay tables. The
only variation is the amount paid out to the winner.
Notable aspects of this table include that the ranking
poker hands are exactly the same as in live poker. This
makes it familiar to the player which in turn makes
it easy to grasp and therefore accessible to anyone
who wishes to partake.
Secondly, note the large jump in the jackpot for a
Royal Flush if played with the maximum number of coins.
Though most poker machines accept only five coins per
play, there are versions that will take up to 10 and
even 20 coins per play. The pay table is varied to create
games that are attractive to different players and to
balance out the bonuses. However, the concept of player
versus pay table still remains at the heart of the game.
